First of all it is necessary to find a comfortable and warm space, and a regular time when you are most concentrated and least likely to fall asleep. Relaxed concentration is the key!
The idea is to build your Meditation up, gradually increasing the minutes and working on the time actually spent concentrating. One to two hours a day is a goal to work towards.
However, this may not work for everyone. Some people find it more conducive to Meditate outside, in the woods, by a stream. Try different times, make changes in your life.
For (A) – he needs to try something drastic, (for him)! If he is really serious about his Meditation and the Spiritual Path, he needs to set himself some time to go on a Retreat; being on a Journey of Self Discovery means breaking down barriers. These are the barriers that are set up by individuals through life, and they need to systematically be challenged.
As an analogy, if the barriers that people put up in life are looked at seriously and overcome then the ‘Spiritual Clouds’ that appear when Meditating will break up to reveal the ‘Spiritual Sun’.
