With (N) you need to be careful you don’t give him too much credence. He has had a difficult life in many ways but has had opportunities to put things right which he hasn’t taken advantage of.
He needs to soften up and Meditate, to realize he doesn’t have to fight.
Give him his space. What you are offering is yet another opportunity to become what he wants to be and learn what he needs to learn.
It’s his call.
