Hello (M) this is Patrick – it has been a while, I want to talk to you about Meditators who find it difficult to contact the Light and Sound.

What it takes people a long time to realize is that they are Meditating all the time! What I mean is that Meditation is concentration; in order to manoeuvre your way through life you need to concentrate. As soon as you get up in the morning you are concentrating on something or other.

So, what you need to practice is giving each and every activity in the day your full and complete concentration. If you do this, after a while your Meditation on the cushion will improve, because your mind will not be so scattered and will be much calmer.

This is because you are training your mind similarly to having a dog on a leash. You can’t expect an untrained dog to do your bidding. Neither can you expect an untrained mind to suddenly stop its chatter when you do your formal Meditation.
