May we ask, on the subject of Death, what happens when an Initiate dies. What difference would it make if that person became Enlightened before they die. (Y) did this to someone just before their passing.

(N), (M) this is the Lords of Initiation to answer your question. We are happy to do this, as it is much misunderstood. Death, as a concept is very hard to understand anyway, but We will try to help you with this.

It is all to do with choices. When someone is Initiated, depending on how much they progress, they are still within limits until they become Enlightened. When your Consciousness is within Limits, even as a Second Initiate, you still don’t have the Freedom, on death, to explore certain Levels. The choices would be more than before Initiation – but the Ultimate choices come from the Ultimate State – Enlightenment.
 

Going back to the question of whether to prepare people longer before Initiating.
It certainly depends on the quality of the individual person and their yearning for Spirituality. It is good to make them understand as much as possible what the Path is all about. Try to instill in them how special and how relatively rare this Path of Meditation is.

It won’t always be around and certainly not so easy to attain in the future. Use the analogy of a lifeline to bring people out of the trap of Matter and into the Wonder of Spirit.
